What to bring

The annual Alaska Bald Eagle Festival is held each year in mid-November in Haines, Alaska.  More than 3000 Bald Eagles gather in the Chilkat Valley for a late chum salmon run.
During the festival, a variety of wildlife, art, and photography workshops are offered for festival participants. Also, the ceremony of a Bald Eagle Release is a climax of the festival.
This festival is a community effort.  Local people donate a great deal of time to make this special event happen.  You'll meet many enthusiastic local people as well as people that come from all over the world.  All drawn by the unique gathering of eagles in this valley.
This tour will combine carefully selected programs from the festival as well as sightseeing in both Haines and Juneau.

*We tentatively designed this tour using the model
of the 11th festival, 2005.  When the details for
the 12th festival schedule and Ferry schedule
are available, there may be some changes.
